Julia Cameron

About the Artist

For over thirty years Julia was a teacher and lecturer in subjects ranging from music, embroidery/textiles, art and design and finally education studies.

In 2018 Julia began working in her studio at Anteros Arts Foundation where a new strand of creativity emerged.

Using inherited family portrait photographs she re-makes the images. The finished work is usually very large (over 2 metres high by 1.5 metres wide) but starts as small scans of photographs and documents. These are either manipulated digitally or printed and hand coloured, embellished with stitch, enlarged and then printed on canvas or voile, a transparent fabric.
